Derek B. McCowan, Corey C. Wowk, and Sean O’Brien published an article titled, “Understanding Prefabricated Building Enclosure Systems,” in the February 2015 issue of the Journal of the National Institute of Building Sciences (NIBS).  The article provides an overview of the challenges and benefits of prefabricated wall systems, as well as advice on structural silicone glazing, perimeter flashing, improving thermal performance, jointing strategy, rainscreen and drainage systems, and typical failure modes.
