Keep Architectural Concrete Looking Great

Amy L. Hackney and James A. McDonald published an article in the March 2015 issue of Concrete Construction. The article is titled, “Keep Architectural Concrete Looking Great,” and discusses special considerations that must be taken during the design and construction of exposed architectural concrete in order to maintain appearance and limit water intrusion. The article focuses on factors within the design and construction process that affect the serviceability, impermeability, and appearance of architectural concrete, and highlights strategies to improve performance (such as coatings, crack injection, and admixtures).
