SGH Team Members to Deliver Keynote, Share Insights at the Steel Conference and SEIcon
Several Simpson Gumpertz & Heger (SGH) professionals will take part in the proceedings at NASCC: The Steel Conference, hosted by the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC), and SEIcon24, hosted by the Structural Engineering Institute (SEI) of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). The events take place concurrently on 20-22 March in San Antonio, TX.
Benjamin Schafer
At the Steel Conference, SGH Consulting Principal Benjamin Schafer will receive the 2024 T.R. Higgins Lectureship Award for his technical paper, “Review of Local Buckling Width-to-Thickness Limits,” and deliver the final keynote address. The award “recognizes an outstanding lecturer and author whose technical paper or papers are considered an outstanding contribution to the engineering literature on fabricated structural steel.” Ben also serves as Director of the Ralph O’Connor Sustainable Energy Institute and Hackerman Professor in the Department of Civil and Systems Engineering at Johns Hopkins University.
SGH team members and alumni will also present papers and participate in panel discussions alongside their colleagues and peers in the industry. SGH sessions include:
