Don’t Hesitate to Prefabricate: The Three Ps of Prefabricated EIFS Cladding Panels
Prefabricated EIFS panels offer several benefits over traditional, field-installed EIFS. This approach poses several scheduling and quality control advantages. However, it also requires a heightened level of detail that is paramount in prefabrication but can lead to hesitancy from project teams. By understanding the benefits of this approach and engaging in open communication early in the project, teams of designers, fabricators, builders, and suppliers can overcome concerns and streamline installation. This webinar will instill confidence in attendees by identifying key considerations through a discussion on the three Ps—preparation, production, and placement—while highlighting specific examples from two recent prefabricated EIFS panel design projects for high-risk occupancies.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
After attending this webinar, participants will be able to:
- Discover the advantages and disadvantages of prefabricated EIFS panels compared to traditional, field-installed EIFS.
- Learn about common topics that warrant special consideration during the three Ps of construction: preparation, production, and placement.
- Understand some of the unique limitations that project teams must consider with prefabricated panel construction and how to work within those constraints.
- Learn about how details, installation, and logistics, among other things, may be different in prefabricated panel construction as compared to field-installed systems.
Participants will earn 1 AIA CES Learning Unit (LU/HSW) for attending the live webinar. Registration is free. Please note that space is limited – email events@sgh.com to join our waitlist if the session is closed when you register.
