North Coast Superaqueduct

This 72-inch aqueduct carries water 70 kilometers from Arecibo to San Juan. Just after it was completed two pipe pieces failed. SGH investigated simultaneous failure of two 20-foot pipe segments, performed a condition assessment and designed repairs, which consisted of post-tensioning the pipe with strands and applying shotcrete coating on the post-tensioned pipe.
