Fuel Manufacturing Facility, INL
Idaho
SGH performed detailed seismic and structural analysis and evaluation of this PC-3 complex in accordance with DOE-STD-1020-2002. The facility has reinforced concrete exterior walls and slabs and interior CMU masonry walls, covered by a berm, and founded on shallow soil above bedrock. We performed a structural evaluation of this facility for high-hazard seismic loading with new, taller storage racks. We prepared design drawings for seismic retrofitting the internal concrete masonry walls. We also reviewed the NDT data for locating the reinforcement pattern and evaluating the slab for the possibility of cutting the reinforcements during the rack installation.
