Miami Dade Government Center
Miami, FL
Constructed in the 1980s to house the Dade County government offices, the building is a 500 foot tall reinforced-concrete structure clad with 8,700 limestone panels that cover six acres of facade. Two years after completion, the limestone cladding showed distress and pieces of the 4-in.-thick facade began falling. Working for Dade County, SGH investigated the cause and designed a solution.
